Herzliya Conference Examines Israel Security Challenges
AJC participated in the Herzliya Conference, an important gathering of leading policy and opinion makers addressing Israel's national security. AJC representatives included Shula Bahat, AJC’s associate executive director; Eran Lerman, director of AJC’s Israel/Middle East Office, who chaired several sessions; AJC Board of Governors members Cheryl Fishbein of New York and Adrienne Price of Westchester; Chaya Gil, member of the AJC Chicago Chapter board; and Dr. Colin Rubenstein, director of the Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council (AIJAC), an AJC global partner. The issue of curbing Iran’s nuclear ambitions and Islamic totalitarianism loomed large throughout the conference. AJC is a founding sponsor of the annual Herzliya conference and the only international Jewish organization represented.

AJC at Limmud Conference

Richard Foltin, AJC's legislative director, and AJC staffers Brooke Menschel, Kara Stein, Lena Altman, Ari Gordon and Dylan Tatz, taught at the popular Limmud conference in New York’s Catskill mountains, attended by 800 Jews of all backgrounds. The AJC team offered substantive programming on domestic and international policy, an important contribution to the conference as its primary focus is often on Jewish learning with substantial emphasis on culture and spirituality.
