Deputy Mayor Dan Doctoroff to Keynote Chapter Award Dinner
Deputy Mayor Dan Doctoroff will deliver the keynote address at the June 6 Stanley M. Isaacs Leadership Award dinner, honoring Chapter President Barry J. Alperin and past President Kenneth S. Brown. Mr. Doctoroff will discuss GREENYC, the city's bold new energy initiative to decrease the city's contribution to global warming, improve air quality, and ensure that the city can continue to meet its power demands. Energy policy is a top priority for AJC, as we have made a committment to work to decrease US reliance on foreign oil. In addition to advocating for energy reform, AJC has made a committment to increase our own energy efficiency by transforming our national headquarters into a green building.
Chapter Launches New Energy Task Force
The NY Chapter has formed a new Task Force to deal with energy issues at the city, state and federal levels, with Board Member Denise Schreiber serving as its Chair. The Task Force will engage in legislative advocacy, and plan educational and other activities about energy policy and conservation. If you would like to join the Task Force, please contact Hilary Cohen Singer at singerh@ajc.org.

May 2008 will mark Israel's 60th anniversary, and AJC is planning special programs to mark this historic occasion. If you are interested in getting involved on the Chapter planning committee for Israel @ 60 programs, please contact Linda Senat at senatl@ajc.org.

Starting today, not tomorrow.” LISTEN. Harris's weekly messages air across the country on the CBS radio network during the Osgood File.
