Diplomatic Tour to focus on the "Different Journeys, Shared Values" of the Jewish Community
The 18th Annual Diplomatic Tour of Jewish New York will take place on Wednesday, October 24 from 12:00 noon to 8:30 pm. This year's tour, Understanding the New York Jewish Community Today: Different Journeys, Shared Values, will focus on the diversity of Jewish life as shaped by our Diaspora experience. We will explore three Jewish Diaspora stories through visits to the Spanish Portuguese Synagogue; the Edmund J. Safra Synagogue, founded by Jews from Arab lands; and Central Synagogue, founded by German Jews.
Congressman Charles Rangel to be featured in America's Table Reader and at Chapter Event
New York Congressman Charles Rangel, Chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, will be featured in the 2007 edition of America's Table: A Thanksgiving Reader, and at the Chapter event to be held the evening of November 19. Rangel will be honored for his distinguished service to his country and his lifelong work to promote the democratic values that unite all Americans. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to pay tribute to the dean of New York's congressional delegation and to share our commitment to tolerance, pluralism and democratic values with the America's Table audience of ethnic and religious leaders and government officials.

Iran's President Ahmadinejad is coming to the United Nations on Monday, September 24. Please join a rally to Stop Iran Now on 9/24 at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, across from the UN, at 2nd Avenue at 47th Street, 12 noon, rain or shine. Sponsored by the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations Jewish Community Relations Council of New York in cooperation with the United Jewish Communities, UJA-Federation of New York and Jewish Council for Public Affairs.

College Presidents Continue to Join British Boycott Statement
Nearly 400 presidents of American colleges and universities have joined the national effort to endorse Columbia University President Lee Bollinger's strong statement denouncing the UK's University and College Union decision to promote a boycott of Israeli educational institutions.
