State Senator Kevin Parker Discusses his AJC Project Interchange Trip to Israel
New York State Senator Kevin Parker joined other state legislators including Lt. Gov. David Paterson for an AJC Project Interchange trip to Israel focused on energy issues. Parker, the democratic whip, is the ranking democrat on the Senate Energy Committee and represents a diverse district that includes Borough Park, Flatbush and Midwood in Brooklyn. America's Table: A Thanksgiving Reader Event Featuring Lt. Gov. David Paterson, Immigration Commissioner Guillermo Linares, and Teacher's College President Susan Fuhrman
On November 19 at 6:00 PM, the Chapter will host the fourth annual America's Table: A Thanksgiving Reader Event at the Baruch College Library, 151 E. 25th Street, featuring NYC Immigration Commissioner Guillermo Linares and Lt. Gov. David Paterson. This year's event brings together diverse New Yorkers to say no to bigotry and hate after the rash of noose and swastika incidents across the city. Teacher's College President Susan Fuhrman will discuss the response to the hate symbols that marred her campus, and the challenges of ensuring the triumph of tolerance over bigotry. The event honors Congressman Charles B. Rangel for his positive vision of America and a lifetime of action promoting justice and opportunity for all our nation's inhabitants.
