Contemporary Jewish Life

New York Chapter programs on Contemporary Jewish Life focus on improving the quality of Jewish life and ensuring Jewish continuity.  Our recent efforts have centered on intra-denominational dialogue, attempting to foster greater understanding of multiple approaches to religious belief and practice.

Jewish Women’s Leadership Dialogue Group

The Jewish Women’s Leadership Dialogue Group has served as a national model for healing our fractured Jewish communities. Since 1997, key leaders have come together to share points of commonality and difference among the four streams of Judaism, in the hopes of identifying ways to strengthen communal ties.

Intra-Jewish Congregational Dialogue Project

With inspiration from the Jewish Women’s Dialogue and in partnership with CLAL, the UJA-Federation of New York and the New York Board of Rabbis, the New York Chapter sponsored a series of dialogues aimed at enhancing understanding and appreciation across Jewish denominational lines.
